Mad House Media

What are the aims of Mad House Media?

We aim to help reduce the level of homelessness within Sunderland by ensuring young people become independent and are able to live in their own properties. The project will be providing advice and support on issues such as drug/alcohol misuse, sexual health, teenage pregnancy and self-harm and this we hope will empower all service users to make positive life choices.

How will we meet the aims of the project?

Our client group has demonstrated, since the beginning of our accredited Foyer status that they are willing and able to engage in creative media. The Training Department in particular has demonstrated in this time the ability to deliver these projects by utilising a variety of sources of support – some of which are listed below.

Volunteering: Mad House Media will allow existing partners that recruit volunteers to develop an extensive volunteering programme. Young people, particularly those who “graduate” from programmes will be encouraged to continue to be actively involved by mentoring younger or less experienced participants.

IAG: Mad House Media will provide a venue that will house a number of different agencies that will offer IAG.

Targeted Support: Local young people will be encouraged to join training programmes and use the facilities to build their interest, knowledge and experience in the media.
